CORONAVIRUS / COVID-19

DO YOU HAVE RENT OR UNIVERSAL CREDIT ISSUES AND NEED SUPPORT?

Are you a Springs TMC tenant?

Have you got any questions about your rent or issues with your Universal Credit Claim?

Hayley, our Housing Officer, is offering a phone service where you can speak to her about any problems you may be having about your rent payments or Universal Credit claim. This also includes helping you to complete your claim online.

Hayley will be arranging phone appointments for Friday mornings. To book a slot you can either phone the office and leave a message on the answer phone (0161-764 3375) or e-mail us at springstmcoop@btconnect.com

Please leave your full contact details including: ·
- name
- address
- best contact number
- the issue you need help with and the best time to contact you. Please try and be as flexible as possible.

If you have applied for Universal Credit you will also need to make an additional claim for Council tax Support.

If you are already in receipt of Universal Credit you need to check your journal on a regular basis.  If this is not done and the questions unanswered regarding your rent, the housing element won't be paid.  You will be asked to confirm your weekly rent changes (from 06.04.20) and how many free rent weeks there are in this financial year (2 weeks)

If you are in receipt of Housing Benefit and your income changes you must let us know as soon as possible.

COMMUNITY HUBS

Five Community Hubs have been set up across Bury to target help and support to the most vulnerable and needy during the Covid-19 crisis.

These 'virtual' teams will bring together the council, emergency services, housing, business and voluntary groups acting on one united front.

Their mission is to co-ordinate food, medicines, social contact and support for people without help from the following priority groups:

* Shielded people

* Those aged 70+ with health conditions

* Service users

* Those who are socially/economically vulnerable

They cover five areas (Bury North, Bury South, Bury West, Prestwich & Whitefield) and will look to proactively reach out to the vulnerable using available information but also want to hear from people directly.

The hotline number is 0161-253 5353

The Springs TMC office is closed completely until further notice.

We will continue to closely follow Government advice and will update on the website,

Please be aware of signs of illness:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you’ve started coughing repeatedly
  • shortness of breath.

In line with other organisations, we will be doing emergency repairs only for the foreseeable future. The out-of-hours emergency numbers will cover all our repairs during this period – Sure for heating issues = 0800 466 1223 while any other emergency repair goes to Orbis = 0844 822 5092. They will ask 1) if anyone in the household is currently self-isolating 2) has anyone in the household been confirmed as having Covid-19 and 3) Have you been in contact with anyone who has been confirmed as having Covid-19.

Rent can be paid via bank transfer. Our bank details are as follows:- Springs Tenant Management Co-operative, Co-operative Bank PLC; Sort code: 08-90-18.  Account number: 70198816. Please ensure you include your reference number which has been included on a letter which has been hand-delivered to your home. Please DO NOT put cash or cheque payments through the letter box as we do not know when these will be picked up.

All Community Activities and meetings have all been postponed until further notice and our Community Development Worker has turned to helping those who are vulnerable and self-isolating in the local community. This is currently the delivery of soup and food parcels to those most in need. If you're interested in supporting this, and are not considered an individual at high risk to the coronavirus, then please get in contact with Lucy on 07960 402368.

Any URGENT tenancy matter can be phoned through to Grant Adams (Six Town Housing) on 07772 675297. Please note any call to this number must be of a critical nature as he will not be able to handle day-to-day matters as he doesn't work for Springs.

Stay safe everyone and please follow Government Advice

Please keep an eye on the website (www.springstmcoop.btck.co.uk), Facebook and Twitter for updates. Many thanks for your understanding at this difficult time
